The Desire for the Journey

We walk the paths in the journey of our artistic lives. It doesn't matter how far a person has gone, or if even if the way has been lost, as long as the passion, the love and the joy are still there we believe that every moment is a step forward. The desire to keep walking is all that matters and all that is required.

Empty Your Cup

We believe in humbling oneself, putting the ego aside, and always keeping an open mind. It does not matter how much a person learns or how much his or her skill has developed, there is always a chance to learn something new even from the most novice seeming.

The teacup is the symbol of Itadaki. The only way to taste the tea of another person is to empty your cup.

The Itadaki Forum is all about cultivating this.

Coraline

Postby risu-chan on Fri Feb 06, 2009 4:09 pm

I don't know about you guys, but I'm SUPER excited to see Coraline! I'm a huge fan of dark fairy tales and the artwork and direction of The Nightmare Before Christmas. Stop Motion films always have such interesting visual "feel", plus I think it'll look fantastic with the type of story it is :) Plus, its in 3D, I've never been to a 3D movie before.

Is anyone going to see it?

Aww man, well if it's not too far away I'd definitely recommend seeing it. I really enjoyed it!

Just saw it in 3D tonight, and it was amazing. I loved it so much.

Risu-chan, have you ever seen Mirrormask? It's by the same creator of Coraline (Neil Gaiman) and it's my favorite movie, if you like dark fairytales, I think you'll love it.

Coraline was great! I saw it in 3D too, which hurt my eyes a little bit afterwards but also made me enjoy it even more. However, I don't think I'd watch it again any time soon, I was kinda creeped out afterwards - I guess that's just the after effects of a good movie! Although after watching it, my friend who also watched the film told me that the book was even better. So now, I'm kind of yearning to read the book, because usually the books are better than the films (this I mean with books and movies in general, although this is my opinion so I hope you aren't offended). Either way, the film was excellent and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

(I also can't wait for the 6th Harry Potter movie to come out. I gotta re-read the book so I can refresh my memory... WAHA. Random.)

Chevi: Nooo I haven't seen Mirrormask yet! I remember hearing about it a few years ago, but I've haven't come across it since then. Thanks! I'll definitely have to go find it! :)

Monoro-lai: I totally get what you're saying, I haven't seen any films that were better than the original book versions and I'm sure the story for this is fantastic. I did see that Wybe was created for the movie and isn't a character in the book, which I found interesting because he always did seem a little out of place..

Ohhh, yeah. WhyB (I dunno how you spell it, so I'm taking a guess since his full name is WhyBorn. WAHA) was kind of... well, odd. But it fit somewhat well because the OTHER WhyB helped out Coraline a lot, whereas the other OTHER one was rather noisy, but helped her out in the end.

I remember watching a trailer for the movie, and the director or someone who was working on the movie said that WhyB was added to assist Coraline/be the friendly yet odd next door neighbor. So, something like that.

But I really want to read the book! >.<

Actually for me, my eyes watered like crazy seeing something in 3D for the first time, I hope it doesn't happen again the next time I see a 3D movie, it was annoying. D:

Agh, that sucks. For me, wearing 3D glasses just hurt my eyes a lot (I got a headache afterwards, too ><) and I had to take them off during the movie a couple of times just to clear my head. But yeah, I hope something like that doesn't happen again... at least it added a cool effect to the movie! :]
