The Desire for the Journey

We walk the paths in the journey of our artistic lives. It doesn't matter how far a person has gone, or if even if the way has been lost, as long as the passion, the love and the joy are still there we believe that every moment is a step forward. The desire to keep walking is all that matters and all that is required.

Empty Your Cup

We believe in humbling oneself, putting the ego aside, and always keeping an open mind. It does not matter how much a person learns or how much his or her skill has developed, there is always a chance to learn something new even from the most novice seeming.

The teacup is the symbol of Itadaki. The only way to taste the tea of another person is to empty your cup.

Old games you started getting into

Just as the title says, this is about anything you've decided to play whether it be a newly purchased classic or something that was left lying about in your closet or garage somewhere =P

Fire Emblem- The Sealed Sword: This is probably turning out to be one of my favorites; I've only played Sacred Stones, but damn this is pretty fun to play. While I do get sad over the lack of class trees, I have to admit that this probably has alot more depth and challenge than it's successor.

Xenosaga Series: While some would argue it's kinda new and yet kinda old, I still find a fond place in my heart for this series. To me it's a wonderful space odyssey epic featuring a very satisfying storyline and possibly the hottest androids to play around- I MEAN AS. Yes :eheh: Well the first game had a clever lil break in battle system that I liked, thou the second one was very confusing for me ^^; I admit I hadn't realized I could swap out chars in that installment until I reached Juniors Summer lvl (if you guys know where that was again @.@); finally the last episode had...so much stuff to squeal over it was...amazing. Of course the only complaint was that the ending felt sooooo rushed that I nearly cried after all the ensuing events. ;___; Still a really solid play and worth popping in once more.

Mario Kart: I don't care what anyone says racing in those things before the wii version was out was always a blast. So was getting blue-shelled into last place! It's really one of those typical games where you're missing out if you decide to play solo. Its fun to bring to parties and have everyone get all into it, because let's be honest. Alot of games are better with a friend.

Well that's all I'm getting into atm. Please share some of your favorites

Homeworld - I can't stress enough how amazing this game is. Everything, from the music to the gameplay is a blast. I still cry over the third mission...

Tetris - The original NES classic is something I still play whenever I have a couple minutes to burn... provided my NES is cooperative.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - It just has to happen every now and then.

There aren't any as of now. I guess I'm in between old console gaming, I was playing my SNES again a few months ago and now I'm wanting to pick up my PS1 once again. Back when I picked up the SNES again I played Super Metroid for the first time (yeah I know, finally, right?). This was years after I had already played Fusion and Zero Mission. Metroid sidescrolling is total pwnage. I do think the Prime games are good but definitely the sidescrolling games are the best. We need a new one damnit! So after Super Metroid I moved on to play some FFVI. This is when I realized that my SNES had a problem. The game was glitchy and I eventually got stuck by a glitch. So that quickly ended my SNES throwback playing. Right now I have the urge to play some Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1 and some Suikoden, 2 especially. Other than that I'm in the middle of playing through the Metal Gear Solid serieis. Snake Eater is next. Currently I'm just on a SF4 high, unfortunately I don't own a PS3 myself, but with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Street Fighter 4 out I actually want one for the first time. There are actually a few classics I have laying around for all kinds of retro systems that I haven't touched yet. Classic gaming will always live to me.

Very true. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Metroid in first person. The sidescrollers are just better, and no one's to blame for that.

The sidescrolling games have a quality about them that's just freaking enjoyable. Something only games with classic play style have. That is why dusting off the old systems every once in a while is such a breath of fresh air. Classic gaming where solid gameplay took precedence over graphical or computing specs. Another way to look at is that in a way it's like comfort food.

I love going back and playing old favorites, I used to do that alot of Suikoden 2. Lately I haven't been doing that really...I have a severe urge to play Mystical Ninja 64 all the time though, that game is freakin' awesome. But I don't own it anymore...;_; I also want to play my Dreamcast.

My friend Ramzkun got me a copy of Symphony of the Night Sega Saturn version. It was JPN only and had a load of extra content not finished for the initial PSX release, such as two new areas, one boss, and a handful of new enemies and weapons, plus an extra 'off-hand' you can put useable items in so you don't have to disequip something in your right or left hand. Also, stats seemed to be tweaked because enemies seemed a bit tougher than I remember them.

Also, the team set to port the game from PSX to the Saturn botched it completely. The audio is crisp but the framerate is choppy and the graphics were toned down in a very ineffective manner.

Still, its a VERY worthwhile experience and any SotN fan would thoroughly enjoy it. Yes, its in Japanese, but if you know SotN enough you shouldn't have any major issues.

My Dutch friend keeps poking me to play FFIX, so I'll get to that at some point too.

I've been wanting to play a lot of old 2D fighting games lately. I miss it. ;_;

I love the Dreamcast for it's fighting games, and a few other games as well. I'm sad that mine is dead. >:
