The Desire for the Journey

We walk the paths in the journey of our artistic lives. It doesn't matter how far a person has gone, or if even if the way has been lost, as long as the passion, the love and the joy are still there we believe that every moment is a step forward. The desire to keep walking is all that matters and all that is required.

Empty Your Cup

We believe in humbling oneself, putting the ego aside, and always keeping an open mind. It does not matter how much a person learns or how much his or her skill has developed, there is always a chance to learn something new even from the most novice seeming.

The teacup is the symbol of Itadaki. The only way to taste the tea of another person is to empty your cup.

Team Killers

Postby Variis on Fri Jan 23, 2009 10:10 am

Why do people do this? What drives a person to wipe out their own team intentionally.

Was having a rough time last night in Left 4 Dead doing No Mercy (easily the most difficult campaign currently available) and one of our players dropped out to get some sleep while were restarting the final level. So another player joins named McFisty, and we're actually doing really good. We survive the first tank with no deaths and get back to the closet to mount our defense, and then in the middle of the zombie rush McFisty turns around and kills all three of us.

"Pwnd you"
"hahahahaha"
"Rage Pwnd you!"
McFisty has left the game.

Seriously?
So we restart, some other guy joins, and he kills all three of us before we even leave the safe room, then quits while laughing over voice chat. Yep.

Some days I just don't understand. Why? Why play a game with the sole purpose of killing the other players solely to ruin the experience for them instead of just playing like you're supposed to? What mentality drives a person to drop their entire profession and level engineering in WarCraft just so they can mindcontrol people in Silithus and have neutral guards kill them, then get upset when Blizzard nerfs the mindcontrol cap? Why do guys play on the blue team and kill their team members in Halo just so their friends on the red team are guaranteed the victory? What kind of a depraved soul has to cause grief within a form of entertainment?

Some people are just easily entertained. That's why there are trolls all over the internet, why 4chan exists, and why people micspam.

It's also why I'll never be caught dead playing Halo 3 online.

I wouldn't try to think of the experience so traumatizing. I've met a fair share of team killers, so the best option (aside from quitting mid-game and making an exclusive, private server) would be to monitor your game. I know in mid-zombie rush it can get hectic to manage, but that's what the votekick feature is for

People who like to ruin the game or you don't want in period, just kick =P There's always round2

Oh sure, totally. I'm speaking more of cases where there is no warning. Dude's totally on your side, until the very, very end, and then he detstroys you and leaves. Baffles me. I wouldn't say its traumatizing, its just something I cannot understand no matter how hard I may try. Joining a game for the sole purpose of ruining it for everyone else is so outside my train of thought its confusing.

Well that's understandable, but there are butthurts all over the place so it's not so much a big surprise when it happens. Usually if the guy kills and leaves I happen to say to my teammates that the guy really does pwn at shooting everything but the zombies =P

I joke about those kind of things

I really don't play video games with random people anymore. I always pre-arrange my matches now.

Of course, most games don't allow ranked matches to be like that, but I guess I'll have to live without the stats being on record.

I am like, the most subdued college persons ever! I have a strict etiquette when it comes to gameplay! I don't taunt or mock peoples!

You're just scared cuz I'll win.
