Welcome
Welcome to Itadaki.

The Desire for the Journey

We walk the paths in the journey of our artistic lives. It doesn't matter how far a person has gone, or if even if the way has been lost, as long as the passion, the love and the joy are still there we believe that every moment is a step forward. The desire to keep walking is all that matters and all that is required.

Empty Your Cup

We believe in humbling oneself, putting the ego aside, and always keeping an open mind. It does not matter how much a person learns or how much his or her skill has developed, there is always a chance to learn something new even from the most novice seeming.

The teacup is the symbol of Itadaki. The only way to taste the tea of another person is to empty your cup.

The Itadaki Forum is all about cultivating this.

Here's a little SF4 promoting. Like I stated earlier, I'm really wanting to be part of the Street Fighter community with the release of SF4. Here are some sites for those of you who want information about the game and the community and are possibly looking to be part of the community, play competitively or just level up your skills.

Right now the Street Fighter community has been evolving and is well developed. A lot of information on Street Fighter that you find on the internet are really geared towards seasoned players part of the community and know the game, the lingo, and everything else that has been established in the community. With the release of SF4 there is a rush of new and old players that haven't touched a SF game in a while in the community. There are people in the community who realize this and some are actually doing things to make it easier for the new folks like me.

shoryuken.com or also known as SRK is like the main hub for the community. Here you will find information on tournaments, events, news surrounding the community. They hold the annual Evolution tournaments which are held nationally and is probably the biggest Street Fighter tournament in the country.

I really like this guy. He blogs, and has podcasts that are chalked full of information and they are entertaining as well, at least in my opinion. Check out his Youtube videos as well which are also embedded into his site.

Reading up on Street Fighter as a person new to competitive play a lot of discussions sound like they're speaking in an alien language, so I found a site that has a pretty good page on SF terminology. This should help to keep up with concepts and discussions. The specific link to the terminology section is:

Arcade Infinity videos of Street Fighter gameplay. Arcade infinity holds ranking matches in SoCal and is home to some of the best players in the country.

Here's a good link for really basic Street Fighter play. Good video on the concept of canceling.

Last but certainly not least, here's a link to locations of Street Fighter IV arcade machines. When it comes down to it, playing competitively in Street Fighter means hitting up the arcade and going face to face with your opponent right next to you. I live in the Northwest and I will be checking out the two machines we have here soon enough.

*edit: latest addition

The actual eventhubs.com SF4 page. Very useful as it breaks everything down really well into different categories. This also has a useful terminology page as well.

When you visit these sites they will of course have links to other resources, these are just some I found useful and should hopefully get new people started.l

Hmmm yes... Didn't mean to derail the topic. Besides, we've had this conversation before and we both know I'm not budging.

I really want to play it soon. I'll be home this weekend, maybe I can harass you for some Sakura time. The art style really intrigues me. I'm especially fond of the "black ink" that moves generate. :D

Haha yes I know, but that's cool. To each their own.

Yeah people were talking about how it looks like a sumi-e painting, but it really doesn't. It's only an artistic affect that surrounds the character during an ultra move. During normal play it's just regular 3d graphics, although nice 3d graphics. In fact many Street Fighter fans were bashing on the graphics when they first saw it including myself, well I didn't bash it so much rather I just said I like the hand drawn graphics better, and I still do. In the end once playing it, it was very visually appealing. Although I think one of the factors that makes it acceptable is the fact the once playing it the overwhelming feeling of playing a Street Fighter game once again that plays reminiscent to old Street Fighter II.

So to everyone! Face it straight! and Go for broke!

I'm currently trying to be good with Sakura, but I realized that I really have to practice on my own without help from others. Fighting games are a major love for me, but also a major rage. I get very upset and pissed easily, so much that I want to cuss profusely and throw things (not the controller or system though) so it's a work in progress. :darn:

We can be Sakura pals! Brendan bought it the day before I left for his 360, so I can practice when I'm home now, too.
