The Desire for the Journey

We walk the paths in the journey of our artistic lives. It doesn't matter how far a person has gone, or if even if the way has been lost, as long as the passion, the love and the joy are still there we believe that every moment is a step forward. The desire to keep walking is all that matters and all that is required.

Empty Your Cup

We believe in humbling oneself, putting the ego aside, and always keeping an open mind. It does not matter how much a person learns or how much his or her skill has developed, there is always a chance to learn something new even from the most novice seeming.

The teacup is the symbol of Itadaki. The only way to taste the tea of another person is to empty your cup.

The Itadaki Forum is all about cultivating this.

What Normally Inspires, or has Inspired you in the past?

I must say that music and pictures tend to get me in the mood for art, but usually I get an image in my head from a random idea, but tend to be too lazy to draw it. And even though it is cliche and corny, my friends are also a big inspiration. ^^

I will often get ideas for an amazing artwork, but with no inspiration at the immediate moment I get the idea, I usually can't get it on paper or on a screen.

Music, for the most part.

I usually find inspiration from everything, from music, movies, places I've been and myself as well. I get inspired to draw and want to create something from seeing a really good movie or show. Music inspires my mood. The thing that usually inspires me the most and gives me ideas pumping out of my head left and right are things from real life. Things like documentaries, seeing a product, hearing a real life story, things that usually get my brain thinking, like sometimes hearing about a problem or just certain events in the world. Things that make me think about how I would do things, what I would like to invent, draw out and implement into a story. Other than my sketchbook I carry a really small composition book with me all the time to quickly write in whenever an inspired thought or idea comes into my head.

The small notebook is the best idea, especially when you are either not in a position to draw or otherwise unable to get to it. Though mine is filled with silly, zany randomness that probably only I could decipher x3 Before I decided to carry it around with me I know that I've had great ideas slip away before, and I want that to happen as little as possible from now on.

So yes, seeing and hearing something amazing inspires like the rest above, but something lately has started to build me up -- the thought of making something amazing. Its just that little extra push from behind that I need sometimes, but the thought of being able to make something that satisfies me makes it worthwhile. The feeling rarely lasts shortly after the piece is done but I've figured that's a good thing actually ^_^;

I get inspired by all kinds of things. Music, movies, lyrics, fashion, music videos, dance, theatre, cartoons, and any other number of things. Dreams also play a huge role, because most of my ideas can come from dreams.

I don't really write ideas down, mostly because I either draw them out instead or just re-watch the source of the inspiration. Just watching something inspiring isn't necessarily making me think of a certain something, but getting me pumped up to just let my creativity flow onto paper or computer.

Yes, dreams!

Though I think I'd like to add friends to my inspirations. Just today I was tossing ideas back and forth on some simple concepts and they threw something back that I hadn't even thought of... and it just makes me want to work 83

I've pretty much got the same inspirations: music, movies, TV, others' artwork, friends, you name it! I do sometimes get inspired by my dreams, but it's rare. When I do it's usually something nutty. :lol:

Now if I could get more things to actually motivate me that'd be awesome! I haven't gotten much inspiration as of late, and I totally I blame it on lack of motivation.
